How to Move a Refrigerator in a Pickup Truck
A fridge is heavy, awkward, and easy to damage if you just muscle it into a truck bed. Here's the safer way to do it -- and how to tell when it's worth calling in a crew instead.

Plus CashWhy "Just Lift It In" Goes Wrong
Refrigerators are heavy enough that hauling one in by brute force usually ends one of two ways: someone gets hurt, or the fridge picks up scratches, dents, or worse on the way in. Without a plan, it's also easy for the fridge to end up sitting unevenly in the bed, which makes it unstable for the whole drive.
The Ramp-and-Dolly Method
The safer approach leans on leverage instead of strength -- a ramp to reduce the lift height, and an appliance dolly to do the actual carrying.
When to Call in Professional Movers
A single fridge, a short trip, and a strong helper is a reasonable DIY job. It's a different story for a large side-by-side model, a long-distance move, an upstairs or narrow-hallway situation, or if you just don't have a second set of hands you trust with something this heavy. Professional movers carry the straps, dollies and insurance to handle it without the guesswork.
Frontier Movers has been handling appliances -- fridges, washers, dryers and everything in between -- as part of Phoenix-area moves since 2002. If you'd rather not risk the appliance or your back, we're happy to take that part off your hands.
